Goodbye to the Blog, Hello to the Wiki Page

In the interest of not doubling up efforts, I've decided to not post our Second Life and Lunch meetings here on the blog. Instead, you can find a full list of meetings and more on our group wiki.

SLunch Meeting : How to Connect With the Group and Open Lab

Second Life and Lunch
Friday, September 17
1:00-1:50 pm
KCELT or join us virtually on the Kirkwood island

AT THIS MEETING:
- How to connect with the group: Mentors, Wiki and Facebook
- Open Lab

Mentors
If you're a new member, we'll connect you with a mentor in the group to help get you started. Mentors are also available for members who haven't been in-world for awhile and just need a little help remembering how to do something.

Wiki
This week at Second Life and Lunch we will cover how to connect with the group outside of our meetings so you don't have to wait for Friday to get the help you need. Find out how to join our group wiki. If you've never used a wiki, don't worry. We'll show you how easy it is during this session.

Facebook Page
If you're on Facebook, you might want to check our our Facebook page where you can quickly post a question or share something of interest with the rest of the group.

Open Lab
The remainder of the time will be Open Lab to work on your own projects or get answers to questions you may have.

The Kirkwood Second Life Group meets about once a week to explore the educational possibilities of the virtual world of Second Life and share ideas. Faculty, staff alumni and friends of Kirkwood Community College are welcome to join our group. We're here to help new members become familiar with how to use Second Life, where to find resources and answer questions.

Join us in the KCELT computer lab on main campus or log into Second Life from your location and meet us on the Kirkwood island. (You don't need an avatar to be a member of our group. Feel free to attend our meetings anytime or join the discussions on our Wiki and Facebook.)

Bring your lunch, bring a friend, and we hope to see you there!

Join the Wiki and Connect With the Group

The Kirkwood Second Life Group wiki is an easy way to connect with group members outside of our Second Life and Lunch meetings. Never used a wiki before? Watch this video to see how easy it is, then visit the group wiki to explore the content already there.

Ready to add your own content or post a question to the group? Current members should have received an invitation to join the wiki last Saturday. Contact Kit Umscheid at kit.umscheid@kirkwood.edu if you need an invitation.
